Fun Fund Raising

HOW TO RAISE $500+

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3

  1. Use our contact form to tell us that you would like to be included in the list of charities and schools on the PayPal Order page.
  2. Tell people about The Monster on Top of the Bed and Other Stories and Poems.  Ask them to select your charity when they order.
  3. Collect 20% on every order that has your name.  That's it.  You don't even have to buy a copy. 

A kit helps you to sell The Monster on Top of the Bed in trusted environments. Your investment is $50, which includes 2 copies of The Monster on Top of the Be, A binder with a color presentation and sign-up forms. 

Or, put a kit together yourself.  To assemble a kit yourself:

1.Buy at least one copy of The Monster on Top of the Bed.

2.Download one or both of the flyers on the right,

the "Why You Should Buy and Share" .pdf file, (white backgound, black background) fund raiser sign-up sheet, andDisplay the kit in trusted environments, along with a sign up sheet.

Place posters on bathroom doors that tell people a demo copy of the CD/Book are available in a break room, etc.

 

3.Print out the flyers and the Why You Should Buy and Share presentation and display it next to the book/CD, along with a sign-up sheet for people to place orders.

4.Read The Monster on Top of the Bed to the children.  Use some of the discussion questions.

 

5.In  daycare and school environments, when parents, grandparents and guardians come in, tell them why their children enjoy it.

6.Explain that you are having a fund raiser, and ask them if they know anyone who might want to buy it.  Give them a brochure. We provide several different posters with each kit, or you can download them for free and print them out.

7.Encourage parents to take a flyer and sign-up sheet and ask their friends to buy, just as you would do if you were selling chocolate.

8.Encourage parents to send the special e-mail out to their friends.

9.Take orders in person and, optionally, by email or on your web site.

You may also wish to send an e-mail to people who might want to purchase.  You may also put a link to an order page in your e-mail.  The order page can be on your web site, or with a minimum order of six pieces, we can set up a special order page for you.  The order page that we will set up can send funds directly to your checking account.

Grant Partners

We seek partners to apply for grants.  Your organization or agency gets to keep the great majority of the money, which ranges from $1,000 to $100,000, plus. Google Grants - We work with to develop a proposal to Google that will raise money for you through our products.  You apply and receive increased recognition, as well a substantial amount of money from on-line sales of products.  Note:  This is one program that allows you to raise money from people beyond your normal supporters.  It's a great concept to use when you've "gone back to the well" often.

Small Grants for Libraries - July 11, 2008 - This program brings humanities public programming to libraries across the country.  We can use the CD/Book combination to encourage libraries to take an active role in encouraging child to read, write and draw, and to foster the multi-cultural aspects of The Monster on Top of the Bed and Other Stories and Poems.

NEA Learning in the Arts for Children and Youth - July 2, 2008 - Helps children acquire knowledge and skills in the arts. We can help them by encouraging them to write, illustrate and record material. 

National Endowment for the Arts - Challenge Grant - $10,000 - A Fast Track Grant.  Deadline - Mailed proposal by 6/18/2008.  (Likely to be presented again for 2009 - These grants extend the reach of underserved populations.  Poplualtions that are underserved where we can make a difference include:

  • Young children who are likely to have literacy problems - a small investment in them now with our exciting materials can change their lives
  • Children who live in rural areas and can develop reading, writing,  drawing and computer  skills  through workshops, videos, etc. that are conducted over the internet, by phone or both.
  • School children who want to learn playwriting, in schools and after schools using technology-based tools such as collaboration software.
  • Adults who want an interesting way to build their English skills.

Nevada Arts Council - Offers a wide variety of grants.  These pay up to $100,000.  There are many possibilities for everything from helping children write books and plays to developing computer literacy to extending culture to Nevada's rural areas.  Let's explore these possibilities together.
